Description
The Kodiak Solar PIR Post Light is perfect for marking steps, paths, boundaries and boarders. Unlike the rest of the Kodiak range, which light up at dusk and turn off at dawn, the Kodiak PIR Solar Post Light is motion activated.
The Kodiak Solar PIR Post Light offers two lighting modes, Standard and Powersaving. In Standard mode the post produces a constant soft glow after dark. As soon as motion is detected the light output increases to full brightness until 60 seconds after motion stops. In Powersaving mode the light stays off all the time until motion is detected where the light will illuminate to full brightness until 60 seconds after motion stops.
The Kodiak Solar PIR Post Light comes with a stake fitting included but it can also be screwed into decking or other hard surfaces.

Initial impressions very good. Well made, fairly sturdy - and much better than the usual Supermarket Solar garden lights. Easy enough to install and set up. Having the two solar panels is an advantage, though a shame you cannot change to direction the PIR aims in comparison to the opened solar panel - they both have to point in the same direction. On Standard it works very well, a soft glow after dark and full on after detecting movement (wildlife as well!) Time will tell how long lived it will be, but you can remove the two AA rechargeable batteries to replace or recharge in a conventional battery charger if need be (though that is not mentioned in the instructions!) Not tried these yet in normal mode (low light + PIR triggered full light) So cant say how long they last on the slowly dwindling light we are currently having. However on PIR trigger only, they work great and give out a nice level of light and have a good PIR range.
