The Helios Spotlight beat all our competitors to come 2nd (our very own Thea Spotlight came first) in Amateur Gardening Magazine’s Solar Spotlights test. It was given 14/15 for features, performance and value and was awarded 2nd best buy.
Even after a sustained period of dull days the Helios comes on at night with almost unrivaled consistency. With its solid metal construction there are few solar spot lights that rival this in terms of build, brightness and weather resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question:
The Helios Solar Spotlight is an ideal product if you are interested in illuminating an area which would otherwise be difficault if electical installation is not your strong point, or maybe the area you want to illuminate is an area where you would not want the wireing to show. Generally, I look for a product that is environmentally friendly, fit for purpose, robust, value for money and EASY TO INSTALL. This all in one solar spot light has all of those things. It is compact (solar panel attached to the light unit), sturdy, very simple to install and provides a good amount of light! It can be wall mounted or pushed in to soil! Best of all, it even charges on the duller days where other products fail to. All in all, this product gives excellent value for money and ticks all the boxes. thepjones 13/03/2011
This spotlight can either be staked into the ground or attached to a wall, which is great for flexibility. It looks modern and smart, and the light given out is great, it currently lights up the path at the side of my house perfectly. Previously I had the light shining onto a corner of the garden which looked great, and come the summer I will probably move it back there so that it can be enjoyed come the warm nights sitting out. I would certainly recommend this spotlight for any garden use. By England 1 on Mar 12, 2011 Helpful? 1 | 0
Question:
The first thing I noticed about the Helios Solar Spot Light was its weight it might be an old fashioned point but the solid weighty build (not heavy!) provides me with a bit of reassurance about its quality. Having previously experienced buying solar products out of the newspapers and feeling conned by their poor flimsy plastic build quality this lights aluminium body ticks all the boxes for me. I've got the light attached to its plastic stake so assembly was idiot proof though one concern I do have is I wonder how many times the light can be detached and re-attached to the stake before the joint wears out as it's just a compression fit. I gave the lights solar panel 2 days to charge the internal battery (3 is recommended) before switching it on and for a spotlight with 4 LED's it gives a cracking light. Mine is positioned approx. 3 metres from a trellis fence and it is illuminated nicely. I can also confirm that it does stay working from dusk to dawn having had an early start one day last week I looked out to see the light on. If I could ask for an improvement in the future it would be that the solar panel has a left to right rotation as well as an up and down movement. So for a solar product I'm sold on it and its nice to know I can have a good light without the electricity bill going up! The light has an optional wall mounting bracket also made of aluminium. By J. Question:
Securely packaged and arrived intact. Appears to be of good build - solid feel. Charged up for 3 days and despite Scottish dull for one of these days light was good and bright. Ideal for paths drives and patios. However I decided on a diferent use having had a few annoyances with local kids coming into garden. I used a small piece of wood and attached the light to a roof support on the inside of the greenhouse. Although not bright enough to illuminate the garden (that's done with two Evo 36 solar security lights with PIR's))it shines out the front of the greenhouse and illuminates about 10 feet out from the door. South facing garden so the sun (when we get it) always gets to the solar panel. Job done. Highly recommended. By Willi C on Mar 16, 2011 Helpful? 0 | 0
Question:
Good solid solution for lighting a small area. You get the usual plastic spiked post to shove in the ground (which works well enough) but also you get a metal bracket that allows you to mount the light from a wall fence post or anywhere else you can get screws in (and they are included too). For this kind of light where you want good illumination of a smallish area that's a lot more useful. I have mine mounted so it illumates the patio just outside the back door. You can also reverse the solar panel on it's mount to get a better angle - useful if it's mounted pointing down - which is a very nice feature. Battery life and recharge seems to be very good after a 3-day precharge it's been coming on at dusk without any issue for the last couple of weeks and is certainly staying on until well into the early hours (I haven't been up to see if it's still on at dawn though). If anything it's a little sensitive coming on perhaps 10-20 minutes before it really needs to but that's a minor niggle. Being able to switch it off is really useful too for those times when you want it to be dark. All in all it's a nice product that does it's job well and can provide an elegant no-wires solution to lighting dark spaces outside doors for security as well. Question:
I have had the Helios Solar Spotlight now for two weeks now and can confirm what others on here have said about the product. It is well built easy to install and to my surprise charges in watery winter sunlight! The product comes with a choice of fittings either a long spike which can be inserted into the ground or as I have used a wall fitting which enables the spotlight to be elevated a highlight a feature. I currently use the spotlight to illuminate a silver birch in the back garden but come the summer I think it will be ideal for late BBQ's. I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone considering a solar light. By Adrian Dodd on Mar 21, 2011 Helpful? 1 | 0
Question:
The Helios Solar Light is an all metal affair save for a Plastic Ground Spike. It also comes with a metal wall plate. I purchased two Helios Spots and secured them with the Metal Plates High up on the Back Wall of our Swimming Pool (8 x 4 metres). In this South Facing Setting and from their high position on the back wall(3 metres above water Level) the soft illumination from the lamps creates a very pleasing effect on the eye. Prior to the arrival of my order I had been contemplating employing an electrician to install mains lighting around the Pool. Howeverwith the installation of the Helios Spots that idea has been quickly shelved and kicked into touch. I am more than satisfied with the Helios Spots and at this time of the year here in Andulucia both Spots are lasting the whole period of time from Dusk to Dawn approximately 11 hours. I would Highly recommend this product. By Locheil on Oct 16, 2012 Helpful? 1 | 0
Question:
I cemented the lights using the ground spikes on top of a wall. The recent storm sadly snapped one off just where the spike joins the light. The other one is still OK. By stuart crookshank on Dec 08, 2013 Helpful? 1 | 0
Question:
It works! Even in the winter gloom. To be honest, I thought it would give more light output, but maybe I was expecting too much. I will have to buy more lights to illuminate one particular feature. But if I went the traditional lighting route, it would have cost £40 an hour to hire an electrician, plus the material costs and the ongoing electricity costs. So I'm happy with what I've got, but the display isn't as bright as I hoped. By Ian Boston on Dec 22, 2013 Helpful? 1 | 0

First time I have been moved to write directly to any company to tell them how good their service and products are. They deserve all the success that their efforts bring. By Geoff on Feb 20, 2014 Helpful? 0 | 0
Question:
A well made product that gives out a good light. I ordered two and have fixed them to my fence at approx 6ft high. They create good mood lighting at this time of the year. Can't wait to see them in the summer By Shelley on Feb 20, 2014 Helpful? 1 | 0
