Question:
While I am satisfied with the overall quality of the product itself, a simple change to the design would make fitting so much easier.
The holes in the front plate are not horizontal so cannot be used as a template for fitting, and the holes in the backplate for attaching to the wall are neither in the horizontal nor vertical plane.
This means you have to attach the backplate to the wall by one screw then assemble the light to find the perpendicular. Then you have to dismantle the light without moving the backplate so you can mark and drill the second wall screw.
It would have been so easy, and so helpful, to have just made the front holes horizontal and the backplat holes vertical. By Tony Cuthbert on Jan 18, 2016
Answer:
Thanks for your comments and suggestion Tony (very obvious now that you say it!) We've sent a revised design for the backplate over to our manufacturing team for the new mould to be constructed. All future batches of the Canterbury will feature the new backplate, thanks once again.

Question:
looks pretty but out of the box its rubbish, even after being turned off and charged for a few days it only lasted for a few hours, I thought maybe a better way would be to take the batteries out and give them a charge, I became obvious what the problem is the batteries are the cheapest lowest power most useless ones on the market or in China. they are unbranded 900MAH . I replaced them with Energizer 2450MAH and hay presto everything works brilliantly, lesson for Solarcenter don't ruin a product for a bit more margin By Adrian Winch on Feb 25, 2016
Answer:
Many thanks for your comments Adrian - good to hear you like the product. The standard batteries in the unit allow up to 3 nights of run time, any extra than this is just wasted capacity as the solar panel won't use all of that extra capacity as part of its standard charge and discharge cycle. When designing the products to work in UK conditions it's always a balancing act between the solar panel and battery capacity and from what customers are telling us we've got this balance in the right place at present. Once again thanks for your feedback and we'll be discussing this in the next product design review meeting.

Question:
When I posted my last review of the Canterbury I had had not such a good experience last year, with the top units rusting and failing entirely after only a few months outdoors. Solarcentre were very good and replaced them free of charge, the replacements had been modified to exclude some metal parts and are still working. Having ordered more this month I see there have been more design changes, including making them more water-resistant and incorporating a higher- and lower-output switching option. (It might help if the relevant P and S positions were actually indicated on the unit!)
I've had them working only a week so can't comment further. By Paul on Jul 12, 2015
Answer:
The P and S positions should be marked on the white plastic. It can be hard to see as it is only raised marking and not printed.

Question:
I cant say enough about these wall lights. They are stylish, easy to install, so very bright and everyone who sees them compliments them. I also have to say how fantastic the staff at the Solar Centre are. I had a couple of queries after purchasing (nothing at all wrong with the product, more me being a bit thick really) . Staff were prompt polite and supportive, dispatching a replacement charger top free of charge which I received the next day. Suzie is fabulous! Buy them I don't think you'll be disappointed. Question:
I'd been shopping around and couldn't really find the light that I wanted. I gave up looking and thought I'll just order these and see how it goes... I'm glad I did! I ordered pair of these and couldn't be happier. They arrived earlier than I expected, easy to use, easy to put up outside and look amazing. I would defiantly recommend them!!! By Amy on Apr 13, 2018
