It will detect you approaching with it's 360 degree PIR sensor lighting up the porch before you get there. Description
The Solar PIR Porch Light can be used for numerous different purposes. It can be mounted outside where it will illuminate up for 30 seconds as soon as it’s PIR sensor detects motion. Alternatively the unit can be installed inside to light a variety of outbuildings including garages, workshops, sheds, shelters, stables, tents and porches.

This is the second we've bought of this item. The first worked well for its 2 years or so and delivered good light at our front door. I'd give this one 5 but one of the LED's in the outer circle is dead. Already chucked the packaging so wont be returning.

Question:
We only installed the light 3 days ago so it is still in the charging phase so we have it switched off. I did test it after 1 day of charging it and was extremely impressed with the brightness and light spread that it produced. Question:
On delivery the box packet was damaged. A corner was crushed in.
I examined the light and solar panel and it appears no damage. How ever the light switches on for 30 seconds and then off for 3 seconds and then back on for another 30 seconds and then repeats the sequence for about 2 hours. I have tried a different position for the light in the porch, and the same sequence occurs. I phoned your help line and I am pleased that a replacement is on the way. May be the damage to the box has upset the microchip in the light.

I installed the light in our porch with the panel on the south facing wall outside it and it works like a dream. I was concerned that people walking past on the street after dark might trigger it but that's not a problem.
If I had any negatives, and it's only a small one, the plastic clasp that secures the light to the ceiling is very fragile. The screw holes are so close to the edge of the clip that it's very easy to cause the plastic to split when tightening the screws. Early days yet but installation was easy and the light seems to do the job. Will be easier to judge how it performs in autumn/winter when the need for a shed light is greater and daylight hours are shorter. Received my Solar Pir Porch light installed it and was amazed at how bright it was. Thou I did have to send all the way to the UK for it, it's well worth the money as I have looked here in Toronto Canada for a solar light ,with no luck. Thanks very much for making such a great product. P.S With coming and going early in the morning and a lot of time not returning it after dark its great to have over my dark door to be able to is the key hole ,also to no when I get there the security of it coming on to welcome home. 2nd solar that i have bought and planning to buy more cause they are that good.no wiring to mains which is a plus as i put one in my shed.
